COBA, enjoy the great splendor of this Mayan city!

Besides having a large extension of almost 70 km² where the archaeological zone with the highest temple of the Yucatan Peninsula is located, Coba was a Maya city of great power that had its period of splendor before the rise of Chichen Itza.

Coba means chopped water, due to the system of lagoons and cenotes that exist within the archaeological site. It has two large lagoons, Cobá and Makanxoc, which were a source of water for irrigation and contributed to the splendor of this Mayan city.

This archaeological zone surrounded by a great history and cultural richness, will amaze you with its incredible buildings and attractions: Explore the archaeological site of Cobá, the Nohoch Mul pyramid which is constituted as the highest of the temples of Yucatán, the oldest network of stone causeways of the Mayan world called sacbé or white roads, the stone stelae, as well as the spectacular jungle of Cobá where you will not only get closer to the pre-Columbian past, but will amaze everyone who visits the place.
